Day Trip to Brussels, Belgium

This is going to be the quickest blog post you’ve ever read in your life: So, we took a day trip to Bussels, Belgium. It’s about a three hour car ride, or hour train ride from Paris. If you find yourself in Paris for a long time and have a day to kill, might as well put this on your list. 

What’s it known for:

• Belgian waffles 
• Godiva chocolate 
• French fries
• Home of the European Union (Kind of like DC to America) 
• These 3 small statues of a boy, a girl, and a dog pissing. Zinneke Pis + Manneken Pis + Jeanneke Pis. Download the app citymapper and type those in and you’ll be able to find them pretty easily. 

Best Places for Food:

• Brunch at Cup28 
• Any Godiva chocolate store for chocolate covered strawberries. You’ll see 100 Godivas
• Frit Flagey for good fries
  
• Maison Dandoy for Waffles(this should be your first stop)

Best places for fun: 

•  La Cercueil bar: This wasn’t really fun but they do give you scull cups for your beer 
• Delirium Cafe - 2,004 different types of beers, no exaggeration. 
• Grand Place: the city center of Brussels. You can spend like 2 hours just walking around here, the fun will come to you.
• European Parliament (Keya doesn’t think this is fun but if you’re into politics, they give free tours) 

Overall Brussels was a good trip to do 1 day in. We definitely recommend it and would come back to the city in a heartbeat.
